Reiki Treatments

What happens during a treatment?
My aim is to always provide a caring, nurturing environment where you are listened to and not rushed.

The treatment room is calm, warm and has low lighting and soft music playing.  This is your time out to relax and enjoy.

You lay fully clothed on a massage table with a blanket over you. If laying is uncomfortable the treatment can be carried out with you sitting in a chair. Starting at the head working down the body using a protocol of hand positions either laying hands gently on your body or just above.  I work intuitively with hand positioning.  If at any time you are uncomfortable I can switch positions or to floating hands there is no difference to the benefit Reiki will bring whether I am working hands on or above. There is no manipulation, massage or hand pressure.

Benefits of a treatment

Reiki relaxes and improves wellbeing, supports the body in its natural ability to self heal, and has many other reported benefits.

Reiki has been found to:-
  • Increase relaxation and bring calmness
  • Reduce stress and anxiety
  • Reduce issues related to pain and physical ailments
  • Stimulate the body's natural ability to self heal
  • Increase positivity
  • Help clear brain fog and bring clarity and focus
  • Gives a sense of wellbeing, most people say they float out of the treatment room.

What does Reiki feel like ?
No two treatments are the same, it varies every time and with every person.  Reiki is a relaxing experience and tends to feel warm and sometimes tingly. Some clients feel heat from my hands or in their body, some feel cold or see colours, it varies.  Some clients fall asleep, this doesn't effect the benefits you may receive. Others feel a floating sensation or feel emotional.  There is no right or wrong and no expected experience, everyone is unique.
How long does a treatment take?
Treatments are generally an hour. Allow 75 minutes to include a consultation before your treatment and a chat afterwards.  On the first appointment you should allow a little longer to allow for consultation time before the treatment to discuss your needs.

30 minute treatments are available for those who would prefer a shorter appointment or would like to try Reiki.

I don't like anyone to feel rushed so I always allow enough time for your appointment.  It's important to have a calm ending to a treatment without having to rush out.
One session or more?
Most people receive benefit from a single session, for some one session works wonders. The experience is different for everyone.

The effect of having several sessions is cumulative and can achieve significant improvement.  Similar to any exercise you could do, more benefit is received from exercising regularly than from a one off session.

How many sessions you have is your choice. For deep seated or long standing condition more than one treatment may be needed.
Reiki is a wonderful complementary treatment and can be used alongside any traditional medical treatment or therapy.
Reiki does not replace conventional medicine or medical treatments that you may be undertaking with your GP.
