Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage has been practiced in Asia for over a thousand years as part of everyday life. It now encompasses massage and acupressure points along the head, neck, shoulders, upper back and upper arms. It is a safe and effective treatment for all ages providing relief from aches and pains and promotes healthy hair growth.
How is a treatment carried out?
The massage typically begins with the upper back which helps to relax the muscles and loosen the knots which we all accumulate from day to day. Moving through the shoulders and upper arms, further releasing the common spots which hold stress and tension. Then working up the neck where tension can cause headaches. Moving up into the scalp to stimulate, revive and relax the head, increasing circulation which promotes healthy hair growth. Finishing with a gentle face massage which helps circulation and skin tone and can relieve sinuses and headaches.
The treatment is usually carried out seated. The use of oils is optional.
If the treatment is performed without oils you don't need to undress, it can be carried out through light clothing. This makes it suitable for anyone new to massage or slightly apprehensive about having a treatment. If oils are used then you remove your upper clothes and ladies can wear and vest top or camisole.
